Former Triumphs

  • Slalom – wooo! Came 6th, best in Scotland. Everyone made it down. Well done sam!

  • First Aid Course – quality bante, learned loads especially that nick is really good at fake seizures. George Fell again. Book nowish, chat at handover meeting

  • Batman Night – jake has the best laugh. More socials like that instead of pub – heat nights?

Upcoming Dates

  • OGM- 23rd! Starts at 7:30, sam and Stratts. Everyone needs speeches of their position and what they’ve achieved. Paddy and Annie writing tribal challenges. Need a house for after? Sam will ask Stratts J

  • AGM- 28th! Meet in quad at 7 for photo. AU has a tripod we can have, Khads camera. School 1, 7:30-9:30. Best behaviour, no drinking ;) V formal affair. Captain speech 2 mins, everyone else 1 min. Handover before spring break, individual handover after

  • NSR – no cars. Arnold Clark + Private cars. Use demo boats, and a play boat. Duo on a private car. Good to go.

Finance Update/ Treasurer fun - £5800/700 in the bank.Lots needs to go out for charity.£5 fee is working, people are paying or following plans, only two people have to pay fee.BUCS claim needs to come in – sam and rory will chat

Standing Items

  • Alps – drunken speech of encouragement worked. It’s a go! Things need done, alps specific committee meeting, cars need booked etc WILL BE GREAT

  • Easter Trip – 18 people, so 6 more needed. Deposit for hostel is sent. Transport needs sorted. Plan = polls on facebook beforehand for a rough idea of what people want, kayaking available every day. Group meals every day, get people into groups for cooking each night

  • Nesk Trip – all sorted, 11 people, 4 proper leaders, plus other competent people.

  • 4 star – this weekend with james fleming. Chloe Weiss, Sam, other people, course is full. Transport is sorted

  • Blog posts – WWR – Carys, SSS Polo, betty, chloe P, Georgia. Slalom – Chloe Jones Freshers – Betty Rory - BY NEXT WEEK!

  • Boatshed redevelopment - boatshed is getting knocked down by next summer, but nowhere else for us to go. AU wont give us money to redo the shed as we have to move. – want to give money for the pool, We need something for outside the shed. Anotehr meeting on Thursday with other shed clubs for shortterm solutions. They realise we need plans for next year, they realise not being near the sea is useless for us. Summer 2018 = D Day Lack of changing facilities – sailing club might be able to help us yay! A plan for super cold days. Chanigng rooms and privacy would make for more inclusivity. Keep pressing this after handover.

  • Cambo – Car is booked, 8 seater. Chloe can drive her car with 3 spaces. Fun fun fun! March 1st

  • Ball – all sorted, band, dj, speakers from union. Just need tickets. Hotle du Vin chatting to chef about vegan menu. Other clubs are sort of keen, will check closer to time. Alumni are asking about tickets. Dre will bring it up at swimming committee. Free champagne yay. Charity raffle, carys will help.

  • Awards – deadline is 5th march. Archie Strachan – dre! Writeen by KHad. Peter Steirnan – for KHad written by Jamie. Fresher award – Betty writeen by Carys and Chloe J. Volunteer of the year – Khad, Volunteer of the Month - Dre Club of the year – Google doc for everyone to contribute to! Improved Club of the Year. Details of a participation award coming soon….

  • Player layer – we cant get anything water related. Rash vest potential from a different company, but not funded. Need to chat with Fergus. Free tshirts

  • Summer Trip – need to start chatting about it bc we need to source canoes

  • When do we want to hand over

  • Beach clean? – email to Fife council. Transition just did one, mabe KBurn instead

  • Membership (over 100) – push for 100 by the end of the week, begineers trip, Finn! Push at sea session. If they need acces fee message KHad for half price.

  • BASE (update) – issue with the new time. Change in time require new people.. Carys will keep chasing up new volunteers

  • Dundee Ceilidh – Socials are on it. £10 per ticket.

  • Sinners – 8th March.. Theme = upside down clothes? Still under discussion

  • Spray decks – more nylon decks, for people who struggle to pull decks. Encourage people to use nylons more

  • Alternative NSR – Etive Sunday, Beginners Saturday. ALICE IS COMING! Betty will do beginners. Rory will organise Etive, ben will assist. BUT THERES NO CAR L Blue and Dre’s? Could convince Kirsten. Ask for a venga swap?

  • Pancakes – text a pancake for charity

  • Canoe trip – 8/9th april ,locations – Balquider – short shuttle, easy access. Sca are concerned about the expedition style of the trip. Transport needs sorted.

  • BUCS Polo – entries have opened. Nottingham rather than Doncaster, water is dirtier, no party, leptospirosis. Minor facilties at campsite, no showers, need to enquire? Happy to go if there is interest. Discuss with new competitions captain. Also P in the Loch, at Stirling uni in their loch. Might lose funding for not going to BUCS.

  • Handover documents – everyone needs to write one by Tuesday. On the Drive. Woo

  • Club Photo – next week

  • Coaching weekend – weekend after spring break, 1st/2nd april. Just after techno surf/canoe techno ceilidh. But 2 courses running already that weekend. Bash on down river running instead of coaching? Sam will organise (probably). Can talk about it at handover to get new committee involved with some guidance.
